Funeral service will be held on Saturday August 12, 2017,11am at Kinchen Funeral Home, Inc. for Ms. Rachel Ann Mitchell.
Rachel Ann Mitchell was born on May 19, 1967 to the union of the late Louis Christopher Mitchell, Sr. and Mary Ann Figaro Mitchell in Lafayette, La. She passed away peacefully from this life into the open arms of Jesus on August 1, 2017 after a gradual decline in her health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. Rachel was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a dear friend. She will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew her. Rachel is survived by three children; daughter Shira L. Mitchell, two sons Trevence (“Terrel”) Mitchell and Shavon Figaro; three precious grandchildren whom loved her dearly Sa’Niya Broussard, Jamell Mitchell and Ja’Zyria Linden; her lifelong companion Darrell George all of Lafayette, Louisiana.
Rachel is also survived by two sisters; Vanessa Mitchell Laxey (Grady) and Denise Mitchell; brother Michael Mitchell (Carrol); one uncle Jules Figaro all of Lafayette, Louisiana.; and a host of nieces and nephews Byron, Brandon, Damion, Dionne, Keisha, Nicole, Hailey, Diamond, Jailon, Jakhi, Trae’, Rhylee, Armani, Amyrie, Anyri. She is further survived by her loving and caring family and friends.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents Louis Christopher Mitchell, Sr. and Mary Ann Figaro; brother Louis Christopher Mitchell, Jr; maternal grandparents Cecilia Milson and Jules Figaro; paternal grandparents Cecilia Reaux and Jessie Mitchell.
Visitation will be held on Saturday August 12, 2017; 7am until the time of service at Kinchen.
